Angel food Cake


Angel Food Cake

1 cup of sifted cake flour,
1 cup of sugar,
12 egg whites,
1 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar,
1/4 teaspoon of salt,
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of almond ,
3/4 cup of powdered sugar:
 
Sift the flour with 1 cup of sugar, set this aside.... Beat egg whites and cream of tartar salt, vanilla, almond, until it forms a soft peaks but still moist and glossy.Add the powdered sugar, just a bit at a time, until the egg whites hold stiff peaks.Fold in the flour and the sugar that you had set aside, about 1/4 of it at a time until you have used it all. Bake in ungreased 10 inch tube pan at 375* or until done. Invert the cake pan and let it cool after you take it from the oven
