Cram Cheese Sugar Cookies


Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies:

1 c. butter/margarine
3 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
...1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg yolk
(cream together all of the above in that order, then add...)
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Stir until well-blended, then refrigerate a couple hours. Do NOT eat the dough. ;o)

Heat oven to 375* F. On lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 " thickness and cut with floured cookie cutters. (I've also rolled the dough into balls and flattened them with the bottom of a glass dusted with powdered sugar.) Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes at 375*. Cool completely, then frost/decorate.

Recipe makes 5 or 6 dozen, depending upon the size of your cookies and how much dough you taste-test. Be sure you allow the cookie sheet to cool before putting the next batch onto the pan. (A hot pan melts the dough too quickly.)
